A Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY™ Prerelease event is a special occasion where players get early access to the upcoming Universes Beyond set that brings the iconic FINAL FANTASY universe into the world of Magic: The Gathering. 

What Happens at a Prerelease?

• Receive a Prerelease Kit: Each participant gets a kit containing 6 Play Boosters from the FINAL FANTASY set, a foil-stamped promo card, and a spindown life counter.

• Build Your Deck: Using only the cards from your kit, you'll construct a 40-card deck. Basic lands are provided by the store.

• Join the Tournament: Compete in a casual, friendly tournament format, often using Swiss pairings, where players with similar records face off in each round.

Special Features of the FINAL FANTASY Set

• Standard-Legal Universes Beyond Set: This is the first Universes Beyond set that is legal in Standard format, allowing players to use these cards in a wider range of competitive play.

• Iconic Characters and Mechanics: The set features beloved characters, items, and moments from the FINAL FANTASY series, including new mechanics like Saga Creatures that evolve over time.
